Longville Community Ice Skating Rink

The rink is free and open to everyone, and it runs entirely on community donations. If you'd like to help us keep it going, reach out to one of the representative for the Ice Rink to make a donation.

Come out and enjoy some fresh air on the ice! The Longville Community Ice Rink has been a beloved Longville winter tradition for nearly 30 years.

After opening in 1998 and moving through three locations, the rink finally found its permanent home at Stuart Memorial Park in late 2013. Then in 2014 the rink received one of its best surprises yet: a used Zamboni machine sold to us for only $10. Did you know? Longville is the smallest town in Minnesota with its own Zamboni!

The 2013 move was made possible through the hard work of Deputy Chad Emery and the Sentence to Serve program, along with many local volunteers. The Ice Rink Committee also gratefully acknowledges Scott Stuart, the Woodcutters Ball, and the many community businesses and individuals who helped make the new location possible. Overhead lighting was added in 2014–2015, and all electrical wiring was fully buried by the 2015–2016 season.

The rink manager keeps the ice smooth and the boards in shape throughout the season. Free skates in a variety of sizes, hockey sticks, pucks, and hockey equipment are available at no charge, and a staffed warming house is on site and happy to help with any questions.

The Longville Community Ice Skating Rink is supported entirely by donations. That means they receive no city funding, and they collect no admission fees. If you'd like to support the rink, contact one of the Ice Rink Committee representatives to make a tax-deductible donation.
